Assignment 3 -
" Micro Hour Project "
this assignment is a hybrid mode assignment which is a combination of group and individual assignment. Everyone must pass through group assignment before proceeding to individual. The relationship with company which is IKEA can be learnt by using their furniture in a better arrangement. Types of roof and the correct drawings also can be managed well. More types of view can be learnt which are longitudinal and horizontal elevation. Cooperation with clients can be learnt throughout this assignment and the most important is teamwork because of working in a group of total six members.
Task
Before completing this assignment, few tasks is needed to be done. For the group part, I needed to work with my members as a team and select the same furnitures, types of site, layout of micro house, materials and title block. After group part, I can proceed to individual part which is the drawing part. I must convert the same elements which are discussed with members to our own arrangement without any plagiarism. And the drawings are site plan, plan view, longitudinal and horizontal elevations and section.
Progress
Week 1
After listening the brief, I formed a group with Zi Fung, Yvette, Nathaniel, Brandon and She Qi. We had a meeting before starting to select and research. And the first meeting is just a quick and short meeting. The content of the meeting is to fix the style of our micro house which is industrial style. I worked together with Zi Fung for the research part. We found and explored furnitures from IKEA and also other websites such as SENGHENG, SENQ, SAMSUNG, HP and many more. Hence, we listed out in the Google Docs.
Week 2
We had a meeting again and this time meeting is the longest one because it is finalising time. We need to compile all our research together and vote which are better. We selected our furnitures and elements of micro house based on industrial style and challenging design. After finalising, we presented in tutorials and some advices are given from Mr Akmal. Then, short meeting is organised again and all stuffs are settled and its time to start our individual part!
Week 3 & 4
I had a slow start for the individual part because I finished other assignments first before start this assignment. I knew its a bad decision and action but that's my habit and I will change it in future. I started by drafting the arrangement according to a better ergonomics and my preferences. Then, I realised that the placement of balcony is not logic due to within 500mm walkway is built only. Luckily, its optional and I drew the details and texture of the floor to balance the difficulty with my group members. After drafting, I started to draw in my title block and used ink for the final outcome. This time I did quite efficient and I did once then success. I just a lucky man HAHAHAHAHA. But, I will make sure I change my bad habit in future. I will go multi-tasks together by not doing them separately.
Conclusion
It's a fun assignment! I can use my own creativity to create a micro house and it's truly amazing. I learnt much stuffs too throughout this assignment and cooperate well with fixed clients. I hope I can do it better in future at my time management ! Teamwork is also gained during this assignment. We are a great team and our jobs are always the best. Good Luck Guys !
