Assignment 1 - "Introduction to Drawing"
During this assignment, I managed to complete different types of drawing which are non-construction drawings and technical drawings. Different skills for non-construction drawings such as basic line drawing, simple perspective drawing and rendering drawing are learnt which are a transformation from 2D to 3D by using hatching. Architecture symbols, line weight, line types and measurement are learnt in the right way throughout this assignment. Multiple views such as plan, section, details and internal elevations are explored too.
Task
During this assignment, I need to select a total of 2 items from the above table. One from each category. Next, I need to investigate and observe every single details of the chosen items which are Spider-Man Bobble Head and Sharpener then convert them into different types of drawings - Non-construction drawing ( Basic Line Drawing, Simple Perspective Drawing and Rendering Drawing ) & Technical Drawing ( Top View, Elevation and Section ). Title block must be drawn for every single pages as well according to the requirements in the brief. All the dimension of the items must exactly the same to the final outcomes.
Progress
Week 1
In the first week of the entire module, I'm quite nervous, to be honest, because I already didn't drawn for a long time since primary school. After briefing, I started to choose my items. I selected Spider-Man Bobble Head for the first category which is non-construction drawing and Sharpener for the second category which is technical drawing. Next, I measure the size of both items and did some researches for the section view of the sharpener. I draft it out on plain paper.
Week 2
I drew the easier task first which is the basic line drawing and technical drawing. The reason I said easier because I'm not good at hatching. So, I followed the drafts that I drawn then convert them into both types of drawing. I also took a picture of the items before drawing as a reference. It helped a lots!
Week 3
After the drawings, I started the hardest part which is the simple perspective drawing and rendering drawing. I explored more about the hatching skills and repeated the tutorials and lecture of Mr Akmal which guides and teaches me how to draw a great hatching. Then, all tasks are done and Mr Akmal gave some advices for further changes so that I can make it better.
Week 4
After receiving advises from Mr Akmal, I redrew and made some changes then all tasks are officially done then submitted it on time!
Conclusion
I felt much nervous in the first week because the last time drew a proper drawing is during my primary school. But, after listening lectures and doing some researches, I felt more confident compared to the first week and started to draw. Knowledge which is conveyed by Mr Akmal is much useful! The lecture and tutorials help lots! Hence, the assignment can be submitted successfully!
